This position will lead production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures and ensure smooth production operation during assigned shift.
Responsibilities
Assist Supervisor in leading production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
Ensure that training is done properly and coach production line employees as needed
Responsible for shift schedule to include: line assignments/rotations, employee breaks and overtime assignment
Facilitate shift meeting
Act as moderator for team issues
Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety
Communicate with other Shift Supervisors, other Assistant Supervisors, Quality Department and Plant Manager
Ensure a clean and safe work area
Responsible for safety policies and programs adherence.
Complete shift paperwork
Gather and report end of shift plant performance summaries, i.e.: case efficiencies, scrap, grinds, and quality status
Assist in production as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
Must understand and have knowledge of production processes and floor equipment
Able to read, understand, and strictly follow written procedures for multiple controlled processes
Must be able to speak, listen and effectively communicate with team members
Follow direction and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Must be able to operate and troubleshooting of production equipment
Candidate must have the ability to regularly climb stairs and access all areas of the office and plant with frequent standing and walking for work processes.
Able to stand on and/or walk up to 12.5 hours per day
This position involves periodic bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting.
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
Able to safely operate fork-lift equipment
Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP)
Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences
Qualifications
High School or equivalent diploma
2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred
Must have demonstrated proactive attitude toward problem solving
Must have demonstrated a good work record and attendance
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
